Responsibilities
Overall Objectives
The Fund Raising Manager is responsible and accountable, under direction,for 1) the research, identification, pursuit, and acquisition of new grants;and, 2) the management of existing grants, particularly from, but not limited to, French-speaking funding institutions, corporations, and individuals to benefit the programs of the foundation in order to achieve its Vision, Mission, and Goals.

Key Responsibilities
Grant Acquisition

  • Research and identify grants that match the Vision, Mission, and Goals of our foundation, specifically the program or project within.
  • Develop proposals based on in-depth consultation with internal stakeholders (ie, Finance Department, program and project managers and implementers, budget owners, etc.)
  • Write proposals with the necessary supporting documentation and in compliance with the format stipulated by the grant-giving body.
  • Submit and/or present proposals with appropriately timed follow-ups.
  • Approved grants must be completely cascaded to project and budget owners, including the Finance department. Grant guidelines must be clearly cascaded to ensure adherence.
  • Set up the fundraising department
  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive and coherentfundraisingstrategy for the foundation, in line with V2020
  • Set and achieve realistic time-limited fundraising targets, agreed in consultation with VMT and the board of Trustees
  • Carry out prospect research and develop a comprehensive fundraising database that captures all relevant information, as well as handling all administrative aspects of fundraising.
  • Positively contribute to VMT and the effective running of the Foundation.

Grant Management
Manage communications between funder and project managers.
Ensure proper documentation of projects.
Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports in the required formats.

  • Financial and narrative reports are submitted on specification, and on time

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

Essential Desired
Education University degree in any development-related course Post-graduate degree in non-profit management, fundraising, etc.
Training and Certification Special training and/or certifications required Training and certifications that create added value, but not necessary
Experience At least one year experience as a grant writer Experience working in the Philippines or other foreign country in a similar capacity
Track record of approved/awarded grants in previous employment
Language Requirements French, English Filipino
